José Antonio López-Monís and his colleagues at Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG) have made significant inroads within the Middle East’s infrastructure sector during the past year.
In Q3 2015, the contractor secured a $72m (AED26.4m) deal for Area A Secondary Infrastructure (Phase 1B) at Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Industrial Zone (Kizad). The contract’s scope includes the road, sewerage, storm, potable water, process water, telecoms, and electricity infrastructure. HLG’s works are scheduled for completion in Q1 2017.
Outside of the emirates, HLG was also awarded a $96m (AED352m) contract to build a five-star beach hotel at Saraya Bandar Jissah in Oman last year. The project was the second five-star hotel slated for the resort, and Dubai Holding’sJumeirah Group selected HLG to deliver both.
Commenting at the time, López-Monís said: “HLG has delivered numerous large-scale hotel developments across the Middle East. We specialise in combining regionally specific design elements with architectural features and finishes.”
