After leading Buro Happold’s activities in Saudi Arabia for seven years, Oliver Plunkett was handed the reins of the company’s Middle East operations in 2014. As a structural engineer, he has worked on large-scale projects like the King Abdulaziz Centre for World Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Institute for Diplomatic Studies, and King Abdullah Financial District, all in Saudi Arabia.
He has also supported projects in the wider Gulf region, including the National Bank of Kuwait headquarters, and Queen Alia International Airport in Jordan. In addition, the firm has worked on the much-anticipated Louvre Abu Dhabi museum, located on Saadiyat Island.
