Can you imagine a whole day in Dubai without your smartphone? Neither could we. From flicking through Facebook or streaming tunes on Spotify, our lives are made much easier, and better thanks to a whole range of apps.

With so many new apps launched every week, it can be hard to know just which ones are worth your time. We've rounded up the 5 lifestyle related apps currently making waves with the most tech-savvy of Dubai's residents.

1. Eat App eatapp.co

Dubai has hundreds of amazing restaurants, and sometimes it can be overwhelming to know where to eat. This app makes it extremely simple to discover the best places and make an instantly confirmed reservation.

Unlike some other restaurant reservation apps, Eat's curated list of venues is limited to the best the city has to offer. If it serves excellent food in a great venue with exceptional service, then you can book them on this app.

Using your phone's GPS, the app helps you find restaurants nearest to you, or browse by location, cuisine and price range. They also group restaurants in cool themes making finding new places smooth and easy.

The icing on the cake is that they are based right here in Dubai, making their customer service and in-app chat very useful if you need advice on where to eat.

Eat is fast becoming Dubai’s default app for finding and booking tables at the city’s best restaurants.

But whatever you choose, the fact that Careem's 'basic' car option is a Lexus means that you're in for a much better ride than a regular city taxi!
