Review: The Royal Suite, The Conrad Dubai

The Conrad is a classy tower hotel with easy access to some of Dubai's most high-profile areas. Elegantly designed with a modern but eclectic style (expect lots of gold leaf and blown-glass sculpture), the lobby even features its very own scent (orchids).

While the exterior doesn't look like much, its lobby is framed by large stone pillars, a grand marble staircase and golden animal wall piece above check in.

Rooms are understated but modern. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide an excellent view of Dubai's Jumeirah district – however you won't find much to look at in any other direction.

Surely the most prestigious residence, however, is the Royal Suite. Sat on the top floor (and with excellent views as a result), it boats two king-sized bedrooms, a maid's room, separate lounges, dining area and pantry that makes it ideal for private dinners.

Butler service comes as standard, as does the Bang & Olufsen sound system piped into every room. Guests are even invited to arrive in style, thanks to complementary transportation from the airport in either a Maserati Quattroporte or Porsche Cayenne.

Located in the heart of downtown Dubai, The Conrad is only 15-minutes away from the Dubai International Airport. Set right outside the World Trade Centre, guests can easily get to the International Financial Centre – and it's maze of restaurants and galleries – as well as the Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa (just five minutes away by car).

Each of the hotel's six venues has a different concept, from the beach resort-style pool deck Purobeach – complete with palm trees and landscaped gardens – to The Cave, a wine cellar complete with 'French soul food'.
