Sheikha Mozah Al Maktoum becomes first Emirati royal female pilot

Sheikha Mozah Al Maktoum has become the first Emirati female pilot from Dubai’s royal family, according to her aunt Sheikha Lateefa bint Maktoum.

The Emirati princess passed the APP First Officer Programme from CAE Oxford Aviation Academy last year but recently went on her first assisted flight assignment as a pilot for Emirates Airlines.

Sheikha Lateefa shared an Instagram picture of her niece in her uniform and captioned it, “My niece @mozahmm our first female pilot from the family on her first assisted flight as a commercial pilot. Proud of you! The sky is not the limit. As long as you can dream it you can achieve it.”

Sheikha Mozah is not the only one to pursue a piloting career. Last year, Aisha Al Mansouri became the first Emirati A380 female pilot to fly for Etihad Airways while her sister, Major Mariam Al Mansouri, became the first Emirati female fighter jet pilot.
